What are Nimrods playing online?

image

According to Major Nelson Halo 3 still reigns as King on the top of Xbox Live’s online charts (Week of December 15th). I’m interested in seeing the post-Christmas list, as I’m willing to bet that Halo 3 will come down from the top spot soon.

I know that we’ve spent a lot of time playing Gears of War 2 online recently. Horde makes any rainy day better! But aside from GoW, what are we playing? Is anyone stepping away from the console for some Wrath of the Lich King or maybe we’re digging up old favorites like Catan?

The Top 10 (12/15):

Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (based on UU’s)
1 Halo 3
2 CoD: World at War
3 Call of Duty 4
4 Gears of War 2
5 GTA IV
6 Dash of Destruction
7 Left 4 Dead
8 Madden NFL 09
9 FIFA 09
10 Fable II

The Day After Jibblies

image I hope all of my favorite Nimrods enjoyed (endured?) another wonderful Christmas day. While I’m thoroughly satisfied with my visit from Santa, I’m wondering about all of you?

Did anyone join the throngs of close friends to return a game so despicable you dare not speak its name? If so, were you an early riser or will you just stop by your local retailer on your way home from work on Monday?

In addition to the questions above, I want to postulate on the act of a return. I believe certain retail items to be utterly returnable and I count video games among them. If I gifted a game to someone and they didn’t like it, I would not be the slightest bit offended if they exchanged it for something else. But I’m also known to be politically incorrect. So did Santa bring you what you wanted?

Holiday Gaming List

Ghostbusters: The Video Game It’s one day ’till Christmas and I just now wondered… What’s on everyone’s gaming list? This holiday season my gaming wants are simple: time to play. I’m sitting on a barely played copy of Mass Effect and will probably just start over. I’m also holding on to a barely played copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 and just recently got back into Final Fantasy XII, in which I must be close to the end.

Gears 2 is finally finished so far as the campaign goes. I still have some achievement whoring to do, which I’m sure I’ll have plenty of help doing. So aside from playing the stellar games that I have, I’m not really sure what else I want from the game developers. I’m definitely interested in Little Big Planet and Fable II but I really want to grind out these other dust collectors before I get lost in another fantastic world.

So that’s what I’m about. I really don’t know what else is floating around out there that hasn’t already been played to death by our clan. What are y’all hoping Santa will leave in the stocking?
