The PSP has been a remarkable piece of portable Hardware since it was released in 2004/2005.

While I originally shied away from the PSP because of its high price tag at release (and only other redeeming feature being UMD). I did end up borrowing one long term from a friend, just that I migh play a few games that were PSP exclusive.

Sonce then I have been amazed at how neat a little PMD it is, even if I don't bother with the UMD's.

On a side note, the new PSP3000 model has what the original needed: the ports and cables to play UMD's and games on a large screen.

I also like the direction they have taken, in making the PSP and PS3 interactive on a number of different levels, including being able to stream some PS3 games to your PSP over an internet connection. This even includes some disk games, with limited functionality.

That aside, the PSP is finally dying, and sony knows it. They have made one last major marketing push for the PSP with a few really good PSP exclusive games. So I would not get a new PSP right now, excepting a really good bargain. While I beleive in the product whole heartedly as a Portable Media Device, rumors are beginning to circulate for a PSP2 to be released as early as this Christmas season.

Assuming they use the PSP2 to further their interactivity goals with the PS3, I will be holding off buying my own PSP in preparation for the PSP2.

Nah... it's just too easy anymore. Besides, the PSP is a better piece of equipment than the PS3 for it's target audience (IMO), it's got a cool screen and works well for watching movies and messing around with music and internet on the go. Not so sure about the game availability though. Seems no one really supported Sony's format again with that little mini-disk... so it's not a hardware thing, but how they managed the program. Only Sony soft stuff works on Sony hard stuff.

Kidding, Smokin...go ahead and bash Sony all you like. Regardless whos name was on the device, I would have gotten it anyway as it was a good opportunity and I like the features. I have yet to try any games on it.

Troy- translation:

We all agree that paying points/dollars/dukats/coinage for little in-game stuff is b.s. - think Oblivion horse armor or paying EA for codes to unlock in-game stuff or Sony for a pink-and purple wallpaper for your virtual home.

We all agree that both Sony and MS will use micro-transactions to squeeze as many pennies out of gamers as they can for as long as people will pay for them. Got to try to stay out of the red somehow.

As for the other things:

1. Aezurial and Prime sleep with little teddy-bear like "Sackboys."

2. I don't like Sackboys, Prime or Azurial's burlap sacks, catnip toys or anything else called a "sack". (Ewwww) I also don't like platformers (no matter the console) and certainly don't have interest in one you have to build yourself. A level I built would be flat with maybe a few steps up into a bar and then you sit down with friends and then sit and eat, drink, and smoke cigars until game over.

3. Prime almost made me spew coffee all over my keyboard and monitor with his last post since I was laughing so hard.

Oh, and I'm glad you guys like LBP, seriously, PS3 owners were due for a game they could call their own. I've asked a few guys at work who have PS3's and none of them are playing it though - no interest. It may be the IT/engineering male demographic they fall in, but they were mostly playing multi-console releases and the Rock-band / guitar hero games. You may love LBP, and hopefully it made a profit, but it is not rocking the world.

But please, don't sit there and tell me that Sony supports the little guys and MS doesn't (yanking the fan made mario levels out of LBP was a corporate liability perspective and dang the little guys). Look at the Arcade, look at the support for new community games, and the new tools MS is supporting for little future dev's, like that tool-set/game that they showcased with the 12 year old girl (can't remember it's name). Not to mention the difficulty programming for the Cell and the lack of assistance from mother-Sony that developers have posted about in many other forums.

And saying that the PSN is better than the all the offerings in the Arcade and XBL... I doubt it. Hmmmmm, I wonder what the number comparison is in reference to games, downloads, people playing, etc.?

We're all fanboys in one way or another (present company included)... and you sir are the Nimrod's #1 Sony fanboy.

Oh and don't worry, I have no desire to mess with your Sack.
