It’s 4:00-something in the morning. My twin boys just decided that I could have a few minutes to myself and I figured what better way to pass the time than crank out a blog post? I’m at the stage of stupid tired and didn’t want to think a whole lot about what to write… Then it hit me: What’s your favorite gaming quickie?
I haven’t yet mastered the art of playing while “on duty” and my on duty time is essentially nights and weekends. While I’d love to sit down and blow through some Mass Effect I have to understand that in all likelihood I’ll be called away (cried away?) from my console for extended periods.
I think some of the arcade titles are best suited for my prescribed scenario. Games like Uno and Turtles in Time seem to fit the bill pretty well. That being said, I’m interested in your take so sound off in the forums: What’s your 10 minute gamer craving fix?

Boy, do I dig Hexic. Unfortunately, I don't think I have it anymore It got baleeted, or somehow made gone away. I hadn't really thought of casual gaming on a handheld, though I do enjoy a quick pickup with Tap Tap Revenge. I was thinking more about what I can do on the Xbox without digging in my heels to Horde mode or basking in the glory of Mass Effect.
Great ideas though, keep 'em coming ; )

Believe it or not, Shadow Complex woks pretty well. You can save anytime you open up a save room, and they're pretty close together. It's an amazing game, too.

It's not the size of the worm that counts…it's how much you drank to get to it. |

I just acquired (not paid for) Hexic for my phone. Not bad. Played it at the airport today.
I looked for Shadow Complex, but could not find a mobile version. I've got 75 games on my phone, all of them "acquired".

if I have 10 minutes, I don't even bother firing up the XBox – it just doesn't occur to me I might grab my iPhone and play some tower defense (Tower Swarm? might be the name). For me, the XBox is at least an hour at a time thing. This post is making me re-think that though, I'm sure there are plenty of games to fill short times.

I don't feel old. I don't feel anything until noon. Then it's time for my nap. |
